Surrounded by friends

Its amazing how our children are being born into a land flowing with "milk and honey" or in other words a land filled with life and friends! An example of that is the friends that they are born into having. By God's infinite grace and mercy I am great friends with Kaylee HIcks and so Madelyn and Isabella are receiving are relationship with each other that they had nothing to do with. Also in the last 2 weeks Madelyn and Emma have received a new little girl cousins on both sides of the family, Lily Anne and Hannah Grace They are so blessed to grow up with so many friends who are being raised in the same story as they are. There is a fight everyday to raise sweet, godly, young girls but I believe through having the friends I do, they will grow up as young virtuous women.

A trip to the city

This weekend Jonathan took our family away to seattle, it was so fun especially since the weather decided to be sunny for once in 3 months. We had a great relaxing time with the girls as well as many fun adventures. The first day we took them down to the pier and Emma rode the carousel at least 5 times, we sat and enjoyed the beautiful view as we ate our colossal cones. Saturday we walked all around pikes place and enjoyed some great treats, chocolate caramel apples, chicken gyros and of course the infamous pineapple bread. I know it sounds funny that all of our "enjoying" was centered around food, but hey whats life without enjoying some good treats every once and a wile ??? After a long day of walking we went home to relax in the jacuzzi. It was very different going away with two kids, of course we enjoyed them every second but it was definitely a lot more work. I think it will really make me appreciate the next time Jonathan and I go away by ourselves so much more! Anyway its such a blessing being able to go away and enjoy each other, I like when the girls get to be with their daddy for 2 or 3 days straight.

If you take a look you can see who Madelyn looks like, yes she has some trates of her daddy but mostly she looks like me. I am enjoying her so much, especially nursing her. Who ever would have thought I would say that??? Well, yes I do its so special how she cuddles with me. Anyway I wanted to share these pictures with you because I think the resemblance is amazing, mostly in our eyes!

Emma teaching her babies

Here is a little video I put together of Emma today. I think its a creative way to teach her the catechism as well as capturing some great spontaneous footage of her being Emma. Let me know what you think of it and any other ideas this type of style frame could be used for. By the way I literally made this in 15 minutes, so dont be to critical..:)

Baking with Marie

Today Marie came over and we tried out a couple recipes together. I wanted to try this amazing bread I saw a picture of and learn how to make a cheese cake. The bread was called, Parmesan Black Pepper Monkey Bread, doesn't the name alone just sound delicious? I also made a pot roast to go along with the bread so Jonathan could have some gravy to slop the bread in mm..mmm..mmm!!!!!!
We had a great time baking and cooking together, what a gift Marie is to me. Her inspiration for baking and cooking is definitely rubbing off on me, I think this is one of the most enjoyable parts of my vocation as mother and wife. I want to do this much more often, I think its a form of showing your husband you care about him when you can go the extra mile on dinner. Its a warm savory way to say "I love you" when he walks in the house and the smell of simmering onions and home made bread greet him at the door. Anyway both of the dishes we tried turned out amazing (if I do day so myself). Here are some pictures of the wonderful creations, If anyone wants I can give you the recipe to the bread, roast or cheesecake!

Who wouldn't want to eat this for dinner on a cold rainy night?

So delectable!

Happy Birthday Jonathan

Today is my wonderful husband Jonathan's birthday. I could never write a post that would even compare to the amazing man in Christ he has become, so for now I will just say a few things that come to mind. Jonathan is such a caring, loving husband always looking to bless me and our girls. He lays his life down every day by going to work and providing a warm home for us as well as food to feed us with. He cleanses me with the Word of God and trains our girls in the way of the Lord. I love him so much and know I dont deserve him for a husband , God is so good to us! Jonathan is 29 years old today and together we are looking toward the future and all the amazing things the Lord has in store for us.

Psalm 128 - Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

I love you babe!

Ginger it is!

So our puppy has arrived and her name is Ginger! at first Emma was calling her Sandy, but it just didn't suit her. She is just to royal and well bred for a name like that. She is a very playful li' pup as well as pretty smart, she already stays really close by our sides. Emma and Ginger have already bonded together and its so sweet to watch them play.

We are in full puppy mode at our house, potty training her, crate training and all the other things that come along with havin a new puppy. I'm hoping that all the scenes we are going through with her right now are going to pay off in the end and we are going to have a wonderfully trained family dog. Last night Emma and Jonathan gave Ginger her first bath, Emma thought this was the greatest! I am trying to keep my sanity after cleaning up all the messes. Besides you gotta have a dog growing up with your kids rite???... Its one of those great storge things that makes for good memories!

We are so excited for our new puppy!

Maddie's Newest Tricks

Madelyn is now 5 months old, she is starting to do so many new things. Because of my surgery I wasn't able to nurse her very much so we introduced her to rice cereal and she loved it. I love how babies make such a mess with that stuff! There is a lil video of her eating on my video bar (which is on the left side of my blog). She is trying her hardest to learn to sit up, for now she is content grabbin her toys on her lil' toy gym. Most of all she is responding so much to her momma..:) I love it! when she is on the ground and i walk past she just undulates with happiness! The sweetest thing ever, it makes all the hard parts worth every bit of it. We are so blessed with the lil' bundle of joy!

Playin with her toys!

What blue eyes!

Happy girl..:)

Our Snow Day

I like snow days for many reasons, most of all making special memories with Emma. Emma is filled with so much amazement every time it snows. She is always askin me, "mom when is it gona snow?" and I tell her "I dont know Emma you have to ask God". So the other morning she hops out of bed and says look mom God gave us snow, then the next thing I know she is standing outside saying "thank you God! you gave us snow, Look momma He gave us so much snow", then she says "Momma, is He listening to me? Where is He?" It was so sweet to se the innocence of a child and the faith they have. Anyway the last couple days have been very cozy and relaxing (despite the countless times we take off an on snow clothes). When it snows I just decide its a "fun day" Im gonna be a "fun mom" and not worry about getting things done, I just wana enjoy it. Emma and I made cookies and banana bread for daddy and had lots of fun enjoying the snow. Maddie was here to but she wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow or how to enjoy it!
