Happy Birthday Emma Grace

Today is Emma's 3rd Birthday, it is amazing how fast time fly’s. I will never forget the special feeling when Jonathan and I brought our first, sweet baby girl home from the hospital. She was so small and beautiful, and every day she as she grows, she is more and more special to us. Emma Grace had her girl’s party this afternoon and tonight she had a party with her Grandparents, Daddy and I, and the Waters.

Only 4 days left!

Sorry it has been a while since I've updated my blog, here is an update on how things are coming along for a new baby. Her room is quite prepared with outfits, diapers, blankets, binkies, and anything else you can imagine that you would need for a new baby. Our house is in perfect condition from the blinds being dusted, the carpets being cleaned and the couches being steam cleaned. I must say thank you to my mom, my mother-n-law, grandma Marilyn and my nieces, our house would not be the way it was if they hadn’t helped me. Oh yes! I have even switched the house decor over for fall, I love the smell in our house now it makes such a cozy environment. Best of all Jonathan worked nonstop Labor Day weekend building a fireplace and mantel area for our new gas stove we put in. What a difference it’s going to make this winter having a cozy fireplace to sit in front of. Jonathan has been amazing during my pregnancy and he has made our home so nice for me to be in.

I am going to the hospital Thursday morning to have a test done on the babies lungs to be sure she is ready before my induction. Everyone please pray that she is ready for my sake and yours, you wouldn’t want to see me at the wedding. (ha,ha,ha,). Anyway if all goes well I will be going in to St. Peters at 7:30 Friday morning! Pictures will follow so be sure to check back. (pictures of after the baby is born of course)

The changing table is set and ready

I love how tiny the lil outfits and socks are.

Aren't these booties adorable?

Enjoying Simple Pleasures

One thing our family has enjoyed this summer is having an evening fire on our deck. Emma loves to sit and roast marsh mellows with her daddy! It also is fun because it draws a crowd, every time we built a fire at least two or more of my nieces and nephews would join. Watching Jonathan come home from work, relax with a cold beer and sit with his girls around the fire always makes me happy. It’s one of those simple pleasures we enjoy! Besides I feel like I am being a “good wife” (ha, ha, ha) when he really gets to rest in the evenings. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like every night is a perfect dream. We most definitely have our moments; thank the Lord for His forgiveness. Anyway I believe God is pleased when we our resting in our vocations and can truly enjoy our husbands.

I love the look on Jonathans face.

"Blow on it Emma, its really hot!"

A Girl with Bold Assertions

This inspired me to put the scripture into Emma. You can tell this girl is surrounded by a story. Listening to this girl's mom in the background, you can tell that she's putting the story into her daughter.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

19 Days and Counting!!!

Here is the latest on the baby bump!!! I am definitely at the point of discomfort, any normal daily task has become a mountain to climb. Take eating for instance-it’s supposed to be enjoyable and you should look forward to your meals; for me right now, every time I eat it hurts so I can’t eat very much, which results in being hungry all the time! Then there’s the matter of sleep--getting comfortable is nearly impossible. If I didn’t take a sleeping pill I don’t think I could catch a wink.

Being pregnant has definitely given me a new appreciation for my mom and any mother out there who has gone through this any amount of times. I also think God has given us scriptures to comfort us at times like these. This is the one that has helped me: But women will be saved through childbearing--if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. 1 Timothy 2:15

Yesterday Jonathan took me to Babies-R-Us and we bought all the last little necessities for our baby. Picking out all the blankets and lil outfits was so much fun and made having a baby seem more real and exciting to me. We still have not come up with a name for her but Jonathan says we will know it when we see her! I can hardly wait to see her little face and hold her on the other side. I will keep everyone updated as it gets closer. Please pray for the peace of our household, if you’ve had any children you probably know why I’m asking for prayer!

The bump looks smaller with a sweat shirt on.

Dont worry, here is the real size! only 3 weeks away
