Surrounded by friends

Its amazing how our children are being born into a land flowing with "milk and honey" or in other words a land filled with life and friends! An example of that is the friends that they are born into having. By God's infinite grace and mercy I am great friends with Kaylee HIcks and so Madelyn and Isabella are receiving are relationship with each other that they had nothing to do with. Also in the last 2 weeks Madelyn and Emma have received a new little girl cousins on both sides of the family, Lily Anne and Hannah Grace They are so blessed to grow up with so many friends who are being raised in the same story as they are. There is a fight everyday to raise sweet, godly, young girls but I believe through having the friends I do, they will grow up as young virtuous women.

A trip to the city

This weekend Jonathan took our family away to seattle, it was so fun especially since the weather decided to be sunny for once in 3 months. We had a great relaxing time with the girls as well as many fun adventures. The first day we took them down to the pier and Emma rode the carousel at least 5 times, we sat and enjoyed the beautiful view as we ate our colossal cones. Saturday we walked all around pikes place and enjoyed some great treats, chocolate caramel apples, chicken gyros and of course the infamous pineapple bread. I know it sounds funny that all of our "enjoying" was centered around food, but hey whats life without enjoying some good treats every once and a wile ??? After a long day of walking we went home to relax in the jacuzzi. It was very different going away with two kids, of course we enjoyed them every second but it was definitely a lot more work. I think it will really make me appreciate the next time Jonathan and I go away by ourselves so much more! Anyway its such a blessing being able to go away and enjoy each other, I like when the girls get to be with their daddy for 2 or 3 days straight.

Its all in the eyes

If you take a look you can see who Madelyn looks like, yes she has some trates of her daddy but mostly she looks like me. I am enjoying her so much, especially nursing her. Who ever would have thought I would say that??? Well, yes I do its so special how she cuddles with me. Anyway I wanted to share these pictures with you because I think the resemblance is amazing, mostly in our eyes!

Emma teaching her babies

Here is a little video I put together of Emma today. I think its a creative way to teach her the catechism as well as capturing some great spontaneous footage of her being Emma. Let me know what you think of it and any other ideas this type of style frame could be used for. By the way I literally made this in 15 minutes, so dont be to critical..:)

Today Madelyn and I were having fun with our built in camer on the computer. She loves seeing herself and cracks up when she does. Madelyn has such a sweet temperament, I couldn't ask for a better baby. She is 6 months now so Im trying to put together some photos and video clips of her to share with everyone, for now these few we took today will have to do!

Baking with Marie

Today Marie came over and we tried out a couple recipes together. I wanted to try this amazing bread I saw a picture of and learn how to make a cheese cake. The bread was called, Parmesan Black Pepper Monkey Bread, doesn't the name alone just sound delicious? I also made a pot roast to go along with the bread so Jonathan could have some gravy to slop the bread in mm..mmm..mmm!!!!!!
We had a great time baking and cooking together, what a gift Marie is to me. Her inspiration for baking and cooking is definitely rubbing off on me, I think this is one of the most enjoyable parts of my vocation as mother and wife. I want to do this much more often, I think its a form of showing your husband you care about him when you can go the extra mile on dinner. Its a warm savory way to say "I love you" when he walks in the house and the smell of simmering onions and home made bread greet him at the door. Anyway both of the dishes we tried turned out amazing (if I do day so myself). Here are some pictures of the wonderful creations, If anyone wants I can give you the recipe to the bread, roast or cheesecake!

Who wouldn't want to eat this for dinner on a cold rainy night?
